Singapore is strategically located off the southern tip of Peninsula Malaysia. Hence, there was a particular interest by the British and Dutch to convert Singapore into a trading port since the early 1800s. Since then, Singapore has developed into one of the cleanest, safest and economically prosperous in South east Asia.
